It appears Phil seeing his shadow really did bring us 6 more weeks of winter! I can hear the snow plows traveling past my window sprinkling salt and sand everywhere as the winter storm drops inches of snow. A fresh blanket of snow would be a mild understatement, for sure! I don’t mind though, it just helps me cross a few more things off my “Adirondack Winter To-do List”. Whether it’s seeking outdoor adventures with my tip ups and snow shoes, or I simply want a day of tubing that the kids will never forget, Lake George is the perfect winter getaway. If I’m feeling a little more adventurous, the Winter Carnival is where I’m headed. A staple for February weekends in Lake George the winter carnival is. As a child the snowman building contest and hot chocolate bar we’re my favorite, the motocross races on the ice always mesmerized! Now as an adult the carnival entertains with snowmobile races out on the frozen lake, chili cook off’s, the local ice bars!
